The Bruins won’t cut ties with any of their restricted free agents, with Bruins general manager Don Sweeney confirming the team will make qualifying offers to Ondrej Kase, Nick Ritchie and Zach Senyshyn.

The news on Kase was certainly a bit surprising, as Kase, who has only appeared in three games this season (leaving two of them before the final horn due to concussion issues) had a qualifying bid of 2. , $ 6 million to his name. But it’s worth noting that the Bruins and Kase could trade from that number, which must almost be the case, you suppose, given Kase’s health.

Acquired from the Ducks in February 2020 in exchange for 2020 first-round pick David Backes and defensive prospect Axel Andersson, Kase had one assist in nine regular-season games with the Bruins and four mentions. assist in 11 games in the 2020 playoffs inside the Toronto bubble.

Ritchie, meanwhile, will remain factored into the Bruins’ plans after the Kraken go for defenseman Jeremy Lauzon.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Ritchie just scored a career-high 15 goals in 2021. It will be interesting to see where the Bruins end up with Ritchie as he has had a great rebound in the regular season. but appeared to slow down considerably during the playoffs, with just one assist in his last seven playoff games.

Arbitrage is an option if the Bruins and Ritchie are unable to find the correct number.

And then there is Senyshyn.

The 15th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Senyshyn had seven goals and 13 points in 18 games with the P-Bruins last season, and has one goal in an empty net and two assists in 14 NHL games at the over the past three seasons.
