WEST BLOOMFIELD, Michigan. – We all like to put special things in a special place so that we don’t lose them. Yet so many times we forget where exactly this “special place” is.
This is the case with a wedding album whose owners have left a most special legacy. Mase Mikhail of Bloomfield West is a business owner who found the album and wants to return it to its original owners.
In the days leading up to Christmas, Mase and his son cleaned up a mall he recently bought and is looking to rent on Schoenherr Road in Warren.
“We were putting on a new drop ceiling and everything, and then when we lifted one of the drop ceilings, I was like, ‘It’s weird to find that over there,’ Mase said.
Lynn and George are the couple in the wedding album. They were married on March 14, 1970. The wedding album is surprisingly in good condition considering that it is half a century old and has been left behind.
While some of the color images have faded, others make it clear that the young couple were deeply in love. Mase doesn’t know how long the book was on the ceiling. He doesn’t know which stores were doing business there before him.
Still, he still tried to find the photo studio named in the book.
“I tried to google this studio that took the photos, but it no longer existed,” he said. “It looks like a beautiful wedding from 1970. I said, ‘This is really nice.’ I wanted to give it back to the owners or at least their children.
