Jean Olivier struck down Andrew Cuomo on Sunday’s âLast Week Tonightâ. The host criticized the ailing New York governor’s response to the allegations of sexual harassment against him, which were detailed in a report from the New York state attorney general’s office. Letitia james. Cuomo denies the allegations. Specifically, Oliver couldn’t believe the weird video Cuomo was released where he said he kissed everyone so he can’t be a sexual harasser. âI hug people, men and women,â Cuomo says in the video.
“Okay, but that’s not what it is,” Oliver replied on Sunday. These are claims that Cuomo kiss women on the lips without their consent and grope the women who work for him.
âIt’s frankly unbelievable that Cuomo thought posting an irrelevant photo montage would somehow exonerate him,â Oliver said. âApparently his strategy for literally any crisis is ‘Create a PowerPoint, and that’s it’,â referring to Cuomo’s daily briefings during the peak of the coronavirus outbreak in New York City last year, which reassured people that he had the situation under control. His PowerPoints made him very popular with Democrats across the country, Won him an Emmy, and gave him a book on leadership lessons to beat the pandemic while the pandemic was still very active. Meanwhile, his administration was accused of cover the actual number of deaths in nursing homes this was the result of his policies and alleged harassment of staff at the Governor’s Mansion.
Oliver’s main story on the Sunday show was another look at Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family who control it, and how they deal with being held accountable for their role in creating the opioid crisis. This segment can be viewed on Youtube.
