Marisa Paterson will host neighborhood talks

Dr Marisa Paterson, Labor MP and MP for Murrumbidgee, will be hosting a series of ‘neighborhood talks’ in the coming weeks in the Woden Valley, Weston Creek and Molonglo Valley.

“I’ve been in this role for over 18 months now, and I feel like I have a good understanding of a wide range of community issues and understand what’s important to the local community,” Dr Paterson said.

“But I want to take this opportunity to reach more people and really understand what they want from their local member.

“I want to co-design a plan to develop a better understanding of what people want to see in our community, to understand how I can strengthen my representation, and to better understand how I can better communicate with the local community as their member. local.

Dr Paterson said the conversations would be moderated by professionals.

“During these fun and collaborative sessions, we will ask nine questions in 90 minutes that will bring out participants’ ideas on how we can work better together. »

Dr. Paterson encourages everyone in the community to come, as it will be a great opportunity to share ideas about working together for the public good and community outcomes.

She particularly encourages people who do not normally participate in community consultation or engagement forums to attend.

Dr Paterson said: “The facilitators will bring a new way of framing issues and communication to uncover innovative ways to better represent my community and how we can work together to achieve the best outcomes for the residents of Murrumbidgee.”

The sessions will take place:

• Tuesday, June 14, 7:00-8:30 p.m. – Woden Valley: Hughes Community Hall, 2 Wisdom Street, Hughes
