Round Rock Wins National Communications Awards


The City of Round Rock won four national communications and marketing awards last week at the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) annual conference in Portland, Ore.

Round Rock’s communications and marketing department received the first Savvy Award in the category Best Use of Photography: Multi-Image Use for its hometown event photography. The submission included footage taken by city staff at events such as the 4th of July Parade, Veterans Day Event, Music on Main, Hometown Halloween and Hometown Holidays. The city’s photography was also nominated for the Diamond Award, which recognizes “the best of the best” among winners.

The City of Round Rock received two second Silver Circle Awards for its response to the March 21 tornado in the Best Use of Facebook category and for its recent redesign of in the Best Website category.

“Don’t Winter Like a Texan,” the City’s recent emergency preparedness campaign, won third place in the Award of Excellence.

The Savvy Awards competition recognizes excellence in local government communications and is judged by local government professionals and individuals from the business, consulting and academic communities across the country.
