While the 2021 Schnecksville Community Fair is not happening, the six annual competitive baking contests will take place during what would have been a “fair week,” according to a press release emailed to the press.

The fair seeks candidates and the competitions are open to any individual hobbyist baker residing in Pennsylvania. One entry per person.

However, two competitions are limited to young bakers between the ages of 8 and 18.

Competition calendar:

· June 22, 6 p.m. PA Preferred Cookie, Brownie and Bar Junior Pastry Contest, sponsored by PSACF, 7 p.m. Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest, sponsored by New Tripoli Bank.

· June 23, 6 p.m. Refreshing rhubarb dessert contest, 7:30 p.m. AMAZING! Angel Food Cake Contest sponsored by PSAC and PA Egg Farmers.

· June 24, 6 p.m. Cupcake contest for young people, sponsored by Houser Auctioneers, 7 p.m., Homemade chocolate cake contest, sponsored by National Bank Neffs.

Contest participants may not have won first place at any other fair in 2021.

Cash prizes are awarded for the top three entries judged in each competition.

Four of the six winners are eligible to represent Schnecksville Community Fair in the national competition at the PA Farm Show in January 2022, where the winners will receive $ 500 for the top prize.

All contest entries must be made from scratch, include the recipe, and be fully edible, including decorations.

Once entered in the contest, all entries (article, recipe, plate) become the property of the Schnecksville Community Fair. No refrigeration is provided.

There may not be a fair this year, but the Schnecksville Community Fair always wants to celebrate the great bakers in the area.

Any masking, social distancing and occupation restrictions in place at that time will be enforced during contests and events will not be open to the general public.
