Ceremony raises over $287,000 for the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara

Ten outstanding organizations and individuals were honored at the 2022 South Coast Business & Technology Awards ceremony on June 16 at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. The annual awards event celebrates innovation, leadership and success in the region’s business and technology sectors.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara. This year’s ceremony raised over $287,000.

Winners for 2022 included: Cottage Health, Sansum Clinic and Neighborhood Clinics of Santa Barbara (Service Excellence Award); Michael Crandell of Bitwarden (Entrepreneur of the Year Award); InTouch Health (Company of the Year Award); Dave Powers of Deckers Brands (Executive of the Year Award); Kathy Odell of Women’s Economic Ventures (pioneer award); and Clevr Blends, Outer Aisle and Umbra (Rising Stars).

“Since 2001, the South Coast Business & Technology Awards ceremonies have provided nearly $2.7 million to more than 1,000 county students pursuing studies in business and technology-related fields,” said Barbara Robertson , President/CEO of the Scholarship Foundation. “We are very grateful for such generous support from our local business and technology community.”

About 400 people attended the ceremony. Janet Garufis, President and CEO of Montecito Bank & Trust, and Kirsten McLaughlin, Vice President of Markets at Cox Communications, co-chaired the event.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara is the nation’s largest community-based provider of college scholarships, having raised more than $140 million to some 60,000 county students since its founding in 1962. regarding financial assistance.
