The card will be mailed to every district employee, all Utah school districts, and the governor’s office.

The idea for the art competition came from Lucinda Josie, Director of Human Resources for the South Summit School District. She wanted to find a way to present the skills of the students to the public.

“In a time when the world seems to be focused on and filled with so many negative things, it’s refreshing to focus on the positive things. I love that we are opening this opportunity to our Southern Summit students! It’s great that we get to see and celebrate the skills and talents within our local community. It also proves that amazing things are happening here in the South Summit School District, ”said South Summit Superintendent Greg Maughan.

The inaugural competition was open to elementary school students and has taken place in every school over the years.
