Get ready and get your group chat spreadsheets out as Splendor In The Grass has released their official times ahead of the festival’s return. Byron Bay’s annual long weekend party is coming in full force, so it’s time to plan where you’ll be spending your days.
The splendor will return in a few weeks after two long years and we absolutely have the foam in our mouths to make it happen.
There really is nothing quite like the low-rumble excitement of watching everyone walk from the drop-off point to the gates. The smell of fresh, dewy grass on a stick in the air. The knowledge that you are about to lose your absolute shit to three full days of live music. Ahh, we missed it.
It also wouldn’t be a massive festival without a late change, would it? Of course not.
The festival announced on Thursday that Surfaces, Mako Road and Adrian Eagle are no longer able to attend the mid-winter boogie in Byron Parks. Stepping in to take their places are rapper POND and Gumbaynggirr from Perth Tasman Keith.
You fucking beauty, that’s not too bad for the old heart.
Splendor in the Grass 2022 Fixed Hours
The party officially kicks off Thursday night for all the early risers who were smart enough to sneak an extra day off work. Once you’re all settled and sorted in the campsite, you can warm up your dancing legs with sets in the Tipi forest and bohemian lounge. Or laugh with Michael Hing, Geraldine Hickey, Luc McGregor and more in the Comedy Forum.
Friday is when we really go into festival mode. Start the day stretching with deep house yoga on the World Stage before 1300 opens the Mixup Stage.
Splendor In The Grass will open with a country welcome at 2:15 p.m. before Baker Boy ignites the Amphitheater stage at 3 p.m.
Saturday, we are in the heart of the matter. We have the lay of the land and we know how long it takes to get from GW McClennan to the big amphitheater hill.
It’s time to make big decisions and turn your step-by-step speed into real art. Will you go Alice Ivy or The Chats? ruby fields Where Tom Misch? Maybe you will step onto the world stage and experience the excellence of DRMNGNOW.
Whatever your day, I’ll see you at The Strokes at 10:30 p.m.
Ahh Sunday, the last hoorah of the multi-day festival. At this point, we’re all a bit tired, but we’ll surely still have gas in the tank to dig deep and keep going.
King Stingray opens the GW McClennan tent (a must see) and Amyl & The Sniffers puts it to bed. You have the taste of G Flip, Liam Gallagher and Tyler, The Creator lighting up the main stage.
Sunday is also a great day to reset your mind and pick up a slower pace before heading home to reality. Head to the World Stage for the Closing Ceremony at 3 p.m. or come as the sun sets to drum to say goodnight to Mr. Sun and make your heart pound brrrrr.
Those are all your game times for Splendor In The Grass, folks. Godspeed and I pray you have minimal clashes.
