Students are invited to participate in the TikTok contest on distracted driving


The Highway Safety Network and State Farm Insurance are teaming up for Distracted Driving Awareness Month by hosting a TikTok contest to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving among teens.

This competition is open to students in grades seven through twelfth, living or attending school in one of the following counties: Berks, Bradford, Cameron, Carbon, Center, Clearfield, Clinton, Columbia, Elk, Fayette, Greene, Juniata, Lehigh, Lycoming, McKean, Mifflin, Monroe, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, Union, Washington and Westmoreland.

Entrants are tasked with creating a video posted to their public TikTok account with a safety message regarding the dangers of distracted driving. This contest aims to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving and to prevent distracted driving among teenagers.

The contest started today, April 4 at 12:00 a.m. and will run until April 10 at 11:59 p.m. To officially enter, all entrants must follow and tag @highwaysafetynetwork and include the following hashtags: #HSNandSF22, #stopDD and #ContestEntry.

Prizes, sponsored by State Farm, will be awarded to the top three entries. The grand prize winner will receive $500, the first runner up will receive $300 and the second runner up will receive $150. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and bonus points will be awarded to videos with the most likes.
