West Hartford Chamber Seeks Noah Webster and Spotlight Award Nominations – We-Ha


The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce will be honoring people from the community at its annual meeting and dinner on June 27, 2022.

The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting and dinner on June 27, 2022 and at this event will present a variety of awards honoring individuals and businesses who work to make the city special and improve the community.

Nominations for the awards must be made by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, May 19.

Kate Kobs, director of development and programs for the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, said this year’s event will include the presentation of the inaugural Elizabeth Gustin Basil Female Leadership Award, a new honor that was announced at the annual meeting last year.

“Named in honor of the late Elizabeth Gustin Basil, who served as the first female Speaker of the House, this award will honor women in leadership positions who have had a positive impact on other professional women,” Kobs said. . “In addition, we are continuing our tradition of the Noah Webster Award, our most prestigious award. This is given to an individual or business that has shown extraordinary commitment to the City of West Hartford and its community.

Additional award categories include:

  • New Business of the Year; Legacy business (over 25 years in business)
  • Economy driver
  • Entrepreneur of the year
  • Nonprofit Organization of the Year
  • Young Professional of the Year
  • unsung hero
